Town of Ettrick Spring Cleanup Day

Saturday, April 20th 8 AM – 2 PM

Town of Ettrick will accept the following items for the fees indicated

The dumpster will be located by the Town shop on West Ave.

Items can be dropped off between 8 AM and 2 PM

Please DO NOT leave items before or after scheduled hours.

This dumpster is for Town of Ettrick residents only.

  • Refrigerators, dehumidifiers, freezers, air conditioners, stoves, washers and dryers, water heaters and furnaces –$20.00
  • RV refrigerators – $40.00
  • Microwaves, TV’s, VCR’s, computers and other electronics –$15.00
  • Sofa beds and large TV’s –$20.00
  • Most furniture including couches & chairs –$15.00
  • Mattresses & Box Springs -$20.00/each
  • Fluorescent bulbs up to 8 feet –$1.00
  • Car tires – $2.50, light truck tires – $3.00, tractor tires – $25.00

Tires must be off the rim, price is for each tire

*Businesses will be charged extra for tires*

Metal, wire, window glass, concrete and wood under 4 feet in length along

with small quantities of other building materials will be accepted at 10

cents per pound. Pricing will be determined by the attendant.

Make checks payable to “Town of Ettrick”.

Used oil and oil filters will not be accepted.

Recycling Requirements

Please follow the instructions below when preparing your recyclables:

GLASS: Jars and bottles only!
No light bulbs, dishes, window glass, mirrors, or ceramics.  

• Rinse clean. Remove paper label and metal ring if possible (not required).
METAL CONTAINERS: Empty food, beverage, paint, aerosol cans only!
No chemicals, scrap metal, aluminum pie plates, or vehicle parts.  

• Rinse clean. Remove paper label and flatten if possible (not required).
Paint cans: OK to leave thin coat of paint on inside of can.  
PLASTIC: #1, #2 bottles only! *
NO plastic packaging, ice cream buckets, food containers or Styrofoam.  

• Look for 1 or 2 (recycle symbol) on bottom or bottom edge.      • Rinse clean, discard cap.  
NEWSPAPER, MAGAZINES AND CARDBOARD:
No junk mail or telephone books.  

• Shiny inserts are OK—if it comes in your daily newspaper, it can be recycled.
• Keep papers as dry as possible!
• Flatten Cardboard
• Newspapers, magazines and cardboard are all put together but remain separated from the glass, metal, and plastic.

Place glass, cans, and plastic together in marked “Mixed Containers” recycling container.  Place newspapers, magazines and cardboard in the other marked “Newspaper” recycling container.  
* How do I know whether it’s a bottle—and what do I do with plastic containers that aren’t bottles?
• To be a bottle, the container’s mouth must be smaller than the sides and have a cap that screws on.
• Caps of plastic bottles and plastic containers that aren’t bottles should be put in the regular trash. Please Note:
We recycle ONLY the items listed with this sheet. Items such as magazines, plastic packaging, and non-recyclable containers should be placed in your regular trash.
